In a spirit of “typical Basque house”, this charming hotel with a superb swimming pool, in the hinterland of Biarritz does not lack assets to seduce you by combining conviviality and serenity.
Pottok ride, pastry workshop, walk and swim between lake and forest, giant zip line in the treetops, labyrinth, Aquarium… The Basque Country is full of fun and unusual activities to surprise your children during the vacations.
Here are some ideas for a family vacation at the hotel Laminak Biarritz full of life, laughter and emotions!
Formerly known as the Musée de la Mer, the Biarritz Aquarium is located opposite the Roche de la Vierge in an Art Deco style building inaugurated in 1933. In its early years, the Aquarium only presented species from the Bay of Biscay, but it later expanded to show visitors the characteristic seabeds of the Caribbean, the Atlantic and the Indo-Pacific. Sharks, seals, turtles, jellyfish, they all await you!
Once you have discovered the aquarium and its 1500m³ tank, one of the largest in France, don’t forget to explore the exhibition rooms dedicated to marine animals but also to fishing and boats.
Good to know: the seals’ meal every day at 10.30 am and 5 pm.
Open every day from 9.30am to 7pm (closes at 10pm in July and August).
In order to perfect your knowledge of the marine world, this time go to the Cité de l’Océan. With your family, come and discover all the secrets of the deep sea thanks to numerous immersive and fun experiences: virtual reality helmets, a 4D cinema and surfing simulators. Kids love it!
It is possible to combine this visit with that of the Biarritz Aquarium for a full day on the theme of the ocean. The visit is well worth it, if only for the incredible and modern design of the building
For lovers of open spaces and ecology, children and families, this 14.7 hectare park offers a green setting with preserved landscapes. A wild interlude that welcomes the last non-urbanised vestiges of the dunes and back dunes of the Landes coast. Free of charge and open to all, this ecological park managed by the municipality of Anglet and included in the “Natura 2000 L’Adour” zone, aims to reconnect visitors with nature through a series of walking paths
